Okay so today you decide to watch a movie, instead of listening to your *[generic portable media device]*. You want to see something that reminds you of your OTP but is also, blissfully, Anakin-free (just kidding, multishippers. ) . . . Question: What movie do you watch? What other films, besides Star Wars, remind you of the Obidala pairing or remind you of the pairing as YOU see them?Again, while not required, feel free to post pictures, video links, etc. to illustrate if you'd like.

Well, it's not exactly Anakin-free, but a movie that reminds me a lot of Obidala, specially in ROTS, is Phantom of the Opera... because Anakin is becoming that mean guy and bla-bla, and Obi-Wan becomes to her a safe port, and she falls in love, and Anakin is all pissed off... Anyway, reminds me a lot of Obidala!

Moulin Rouge, the Island and The Scarlet Pimpernel - the one with Antony Andrews and Jane Seymour -they remind me of Obidala the most. Also Ever After, and a film I only saw recently, Ladyhawk.

Don't worry, Gabby, Phantom is a great example. I'd put it on my list as well. Good choices, Danielle! I haven't seen the Scarlet Pimpernel version you're talking about, but I trust your wonderful judgement. I think I'd have to say "The Thorn Birds." Man of duty, honor, and great spiritual faith (one in God the other in the Force) falls in love with a beautiful young woman who is spirited, vivacious, and strong. He's always fighting his attraction for her, especially when she gets married and has kids with another guy. *coughs* Sound familiar? Lol. Anyway it is filled to the BRIM with glorious sexual tension and angst. Good times.

Hmm...Let's see. I guess the various reincarnations of the story of Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot strikes a chord for me. I see echoes of Obi-Wan and Padme's forbidden romance in Lancelot and Guievere's romance.

It doesn't fit the whole picture of the dynamic, but I think it captures the forbidden romance of it all very well.

I was only teasing. Nothing can be our OTP. And I always like to talk about Anakin's crazy. Lol.
And *fist bumps for shipping Phantom/Christine* . . . though I totally see your point Gaby. Oh! And there's a film that accounts for the crazy murderer aspect!

I'll go with Thorn Birds -- never thought of that before -- whoa. The tension, guilt and hotness of the characters do it for me -- Anakin/Bryan Brown was just so /stupid/ hahah, and loved his work *and workmates* far more than his wife .. And retrospectively in old movies, the film 'Marie Antoinette' *1938* showed married-at-14 Marie, after a hot fling with hot Count Axel Fersen, settling into a stable marriage with children with King Louis XVI and a more responsible lifestyle, until her life was ended just as she got sensible. Ah well, a tragic story, just like Obi-Wan and Padme's CANON *see Stover* attraction. and bye for now, I really enjoyed the con. Many congratulations to the mods and just the look of the site, very nice and colorful.

Oh yeah! Definitely. That all fits for me. Anakin/Bryan Brown. *nods* And I've never seen the "Marie Antoinette" film (either one actually) but that's definitely an intriguing similarity. I must put it on my list of must sees! Thanks for the suggestion. Aw! Thank you for the compliments, pronker. I'm sure I can speak for all the mods when I say we're really happy that you enjoyed yourself this year. *hugs*
