I'm so excited to hear that you two adore these games too! I always feel so happy when I meet people who know what I'm talking about (there aren't enough people who do )! I don't think there's any company that can make games the way Bioware does, they're amazing, and they've brought me many many hours of enjoyment. I hated DA 2 when I played it for the first time, and after finishing it I immediately deinstalled it. A couple of months ago I picked it up again, though, and when I played it again I found that it was not as bad as I originally thought. I mean, it still doesn't even come close to DA:O, but it's got some good moments. I just hate the reuse of levels throughout the game so much.

Oh I agree. I really do. I haven't gone back and played DA2 since I finished it the first couple of times, but it could be worth another try. I was just so disappointed after finishing it that it was hard to think about spending more time with it. I mean it was such a shock to see how far it had fallen from DA:O, but distance makes the heart grow fonder right? LoL!

Wow. I'm just reading your comments, Kate, and it's like you're pulling them out of my own head.
I was really disappointed by DA2 as well. The thing that was so sad was that the department I felt it lacked in the most was story -- which is where Bioware usually shines. Same can be said with why I was kinda bummed by original ME3 ending.
I've played DA2 3 times actually. Well 4 maybe, considering I had to replay the last half of my third Hawke a couple of times because I couldn't make enough Templar-friendly decisions to get my trophy to pop. *head desk* At any rate, I'd say the only one that I really really enjoyed was my snarky male mage with Isabela romance. Really the only way to go in DA2 since the mage/templar conflict is the entire point of the story. Man I do hate being forced into a box in my RPGs though. Ugh.

I agree, it was such a shock playing DA 2 after DA:O. They took away pretty much everything that I loved about the first game, and that really stung. I especially felt disappointed that all those options for different origins were gone, as I really liked that about DA:O.
So what are your absolute favourite RPGs?
Edit: Oh yes, the ME 3 ending frustrated me to no end. It's not enough to make me stop playing the games, but I've sort of come to dread getting to the ending.

I would have to say DA:O, the Mass Effect series (completely rocks my socks), and Skyrim would probably round out my top picks.

Those are at the top of my list as well. Though I must say I also have a fondness for the Knights of the Old Republic games. KOTOR 2 was the first Bioware game I ever played, and it kind of stuck with me.
I'm loving all these gifs! That volus really made me crack up when I first met him.

I have a Dwarven noble playthrough on DA:O. I haven't completed it yet, but it's almost through and it will be the first time I haven't put Alistair on the throne. Because I apparently can't do a Dragon Age playthrough without romancing Alistair. So he'll just stick with me when all is said and done. :-)
I just downloaded Sebastian Vael for DA2 and wow. It's a nice change from Fenris (who I also had a hard time resisting the romantic option with on this playthrough). I agree that, storywise, it's just not on the same level as DA:O. Although I really love some of the characters. Varric in particular.
Oh, ME3. So disappointed in the ending, although the whole game leading up to that was awesome. For that, and for Garrus Vakarian, I retain my faith in Bioware.

I just found a new song for an Obidala-video; it's in the Swedish competition Melodifestivalen where we decide who's to represent us in the Eurovision Song Contest. It's absolutely beautiful but due to copyright I can't show it to you all until next week or so. But I promise to post it somewhere by then just to see what you guys think!

aravynkenobi: I usually put Alistair on the throne with Anora so I can get Loghain without feeling too bad about it. I almost never hang on to Alistair these days. And yes, I adore the rest of ME 3 to pieces. And Garrus still has all my love as well, I've never romanced any of the other characters in ME 2/3. @the Wolf: Sounds interesting! Discovering beautiful new songs is always amazing, especially if they fit obidala!

@kate Oh, I just haven't been able to bring myself to do that to Alistair, yet. Maybe if I can finish my male cousland playthrough where I'm romancing Morrigan. I am curious about recruiting Loghain.
Also, generally speaking, I developed an odd attachment to Bann Teagan. So I hope he shows up at least briefly in DA3

I'm personally hoping for Morrigan to show up in DA3. Love her! One of my most fave characters in DA:O.

aravynkenobi: After I recruited Loghain for the first time, I never stopped doing it. I love taking him back to Ostagar in the DLC as well, especially if Wynne tags along too. And don't get me started about Teagan! I'm really attached to him too. And to Varel. A lot. @lupisnoctis: Oh yes, Morrigan is awesome. I really love her banter with the others.

The first time I recruited Loghain, I didn't know what I was doing and so Alistair stormed out of my life for forevers . . . which was fine cause my Male Cousland wasn't into that. That scene was so sad though that I never did it again. Lol. I have to say though that I did find the conversations with Loghain absolutely fascinating. And I'm really glad I decided to do that at least once. Thanks for that, Sandra! I can't wait to hear it!!

It's just because your Warden's jealous . . . and who can blame him. *waggles eyebrows*
