The Star Wars family lost one of its own last year. This thread is a free and open space for you to remember and celebrate our beloved Princess and General. You can post stories, memories, pictures, vids, gifs, tributes, anything you want. The sky's the limit. We loved her . . . she knew.

I am STILL not over this. I can remember waking up to this news yes it was the firs thing I woke up to well my brother woke me up with the news and I turned on the TV and my phone and was just brawling in bed i was shocked. Princess leia was the first female action hero I watched {before Star Wars, I was a Disney princess girl} and Leia was the first girl hero who could kick butt! Such a horrible shock tragedy and my thoughts are with her family In 2013, at my first con, I went to meet the boys from one of my favourite TV shows Merlin and she was there!!! I actually saw her. I was in awe she was before my eyes. I couldn't afford the photo session but just to see her with my eyes makes it personal to me and 2013 Supernova has even more meaning to me

Yeah, still super sad about this news as well. It seems kind of hard to believe at times. I've been thinking about making some kind of tribute video, focusing on Leia's relationships with her mother and son. But I'll need to see when I have time to get to that, things have been so busy.

I watched the BAFTAS recently, and the picture they had of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie really got me. They were standing together smiling, it was so sweet.
I remember Dad telling me the news about Carrie, just when we all thought she was going to pull through. Then seeing about Debbie a few days later, it was so sad.

I agree, you guys. It's still hard to believe. Kind of like it hasn't actually happened.
I think a lot of people take for granted how important the character of Princess Leia was. A "princess" because that was her title but a different kind that no one had ever seen before. A princess that broke the mold and chanced, forever, what that word *could* mean. Part of that was George Lucas' writing, of course. But half of it was Carrie Fisher. Her strength, her wit, and her grace.
Star Wars fans get it. And we will never forget.

I still can't believe it and I don't want to believe that she's really gone. A day or two after her passing I found something on Twitter that really resonated with me and made me feel more at ease with things. I'll share it with you here:

Great post, I totally agree! I loved her as General Organa in the Force Awakens, she was such a tough badass! And indeed, entirely on her own merit!

Gosh I remember hearing the news. One of my friends posted the news of Carrie's heart attack in our group chat and I freaked. Then we heard that she was getting better and I felt so relieved. Then the fateful news came which I saw on the telly and I was completely shocked. It just didn't feel real. And then of course, came the news of Debbie. It's just so sad. I felt terrible for Billie especially. I mean, that is just too much to deal with. Carrie will always be our princess, she was so strong and courageous but I especially loved her as General Organa. So thank you for that post Amelia, that was brilliant.
